Meet Cast Member... Derwin Myers

Derwin Myers is a 21 year old student completing his final year of English in University College Cork. He joined Siamsa Tíre at the age of eight in 1999 and has performed with the company every year since. He has performed in productions of San Am Fadó, Oileán, Clann Lir, Samhain and Tearmann as well as touring both nationally and internationally with  Siamsa Tíre through the years. Joining the company has led Derwin to become more involved in Irish theatre. Since pursuing his studies in UCC he has become vice auditor of the Dramatic Society as well as forming a production company (Scruffy Duck Productions) in the past year.

What was your favourite part to play in any show and why?
'Edmond Rice'  - we performed in the RDS and as a child I felt like a Rockstar! 

If you were stranded on a deserted island and you could only have one item, what would it be?
A Rowboat

Give details of a funny or embarrassing (at the time) incident you were involved in...
As a child in 'San Am Fadó' MY PANTS SPLIT! I didn't realise this had happened, kept dancing and only found out when I went off stage to find a new pair of pants waiting for me!

Meeting a group of friends at a young age and growing up together....continue to grow up together.
